Adding "built-in" Type Properties to a Family

Hey,

I have been trying to figure this one out for some time but have not found a solution.

There are some native type properties for Revit families, such as the ones listed here.

I would like to be able to use these native type properties in my families, but I am not able to add them. Only way to include them is if I have a template that already contains them, but I haven't found any template with all of the native parameters included. One of the benefits of the native type properties is that they get translated when you change the language of the program.

Someone must have found a way to create these templates in the first place, so there must be some way to include the built-in Revit parameters in the family!

Why not just use the template in which they are available?  You can re-categorized the family. Are you aware of this?

...are you aware that you can make a family into a template by simply changing the extension from rfa to rft?

I have not been able to find a template that includes all the native parameters. I am aware that you can re-categorize the family, but that is not what I need. I have tried creating the parameters with the same names as in the list and even saving the family as an .RFA and changing it to an .RFT, but the parameters I make are still not treated as "integrated" parameters by Revit.

The ones shown in your Link are only assigned at the Project Level.

...BTW: are you saying you are creating Shared Parameters.  If so, I wouldn't name a Shared Parameter the same name as an In-Built Parameter.

...another thing: a lot of in-built parameters have in-built intelligence that you cannot duplicate. They are hard-coded.
