Adding non existing element to the material list ?

Hello. Is it possible to add a material to material list even if it is not exist in the drawing. I have an automatic sliding door and I need to write down to material list that there is a power unit in this door.  This power unit is inside the door, you do not see it, so I did not bother to draw it. However I need to add it to the material list, and also other elements that are hiding inside the door. If you have a solution for this will  help me. Thanks

  • You can add an instance/shared parameter for Accessories. It can be a text or y/n parameter for each accessory
  • You can use Doors Key schedules to create a list of Accessories

There are other ways too which do not involve modeling the actual element (such as using dummy nested families into the door and associating those to a Family<type> parameter) but you might want to keep it simple.

Key schedules work best for finishes, hardware and accessories lists...and the like
