adding families to legend component options

I'm trying to make a legend that includes things like fridges and washing machines. the problem is, that they aren't showing up in the options for legend components.

How do I add family options to the legend components?

(the fridge and stuff were downloaded and imported if that matters)

thanks for any help!

What do you mean by imported? If the downloaded families have been loaded into the project, they will show up in the drop down for Legend Components.

"Imported"? As in "Import CAD"?  Are you saying you have downloaded and imported CAD Blocks?  If you cannot use or build Revit applicance families, and must use CAD Blocks, the better workflow would be to import them into a Revit Family and them load the Family into the Project.  If you don't want to do this, then import them into the Legend just as you imported them into the Project View.

Or, did you mean something else by "Import"?

Post here one of the Families you downloaded from BIMObject. We'll get to the bottom of it.

Just drag a type inside the family tree in the project browser and drop it onto the legend view.
