Adding a value to "Count" in schedules

Hi! I'm quite new to Revit and I'm wondering if there is a way of adding a value to the "Count" field in schedules?

What I want is for Revit to tell me how many say Bent plate families, walls and other big things that are easy to place in the model, so far so good. However, I don't want to place 200 screws that are barely visible in the model. What I want to do is to maybe place one or two screws just to get a good detail view and then write "200" in the Count field.

Is there a good way of doing this?

Thanks.

Play using a project parameter.

Thanks for your time, but I still want all the other objects to be counted as they are. The only ones I want to be able to change in this instance is the ones in the red ring. Also, maybe I should have mentioned that I'm working with a material take-off schedule in an assembly just so I can get the walls and all the components in the same list. I still need to have the count value in the same column. I have changed the name of Count to Item on the header. Autodesk Inventor has this function where you just click on the field and change it as you wish and then you can change it back to the static number if you want. I'm looking for something similar. Förklaring.jpg

Ah man you re killing me.

Ok here s what you can do.

Create 2 project parameters:

Fake Count (yes/no parameter)

My Count (integer)

Add those fields in a schedule and hide both of them. Also, add the default field Count and hide it.

Create a calculated value and name it Total (integer). Add this formula:

if(Fake Count,My Count,Count)

Total will not be hidden.

Occasionally, you would have to unhide fields Fake Count and Count so that you can add values in your schedule. Once you finish that, hide them again and vuala.

I am truly really sorry to say it didn't work. It won't let me include Count in the formula. Quite frustrating. I tried the same thing in a regular schedule aswell and it's the same deal there. Gonna see if I can try a different approach somehow. Really appriciate you taking your time with this. Thanks.

Hi!

I have a similar problem to solve and did not find a solution yet.

I'm working with Revit 2020 for this project.

Did you come up with a work around ?

Thank you!
