Add shared Parameters that update automatically

Hi everybody, I've noticed Sofistik has managed to update shared parameters automatically and I wonder If someone can give me a hint to replicate this with other parameters that we might consider to be useful.

For instance, the rebar mark number gets updated automatically:

i) This is my 212 rebar shape

ii) Then its detail component element (Rebar shape as 2D lines) house the same number in the "Anno_mark" parameter

iii). Then if I change the mark number, the detail component changes immediately:

I looked up the detail component family and I dont see any formulas and I could notice that It's a non-editable parameter.

Any hints to add shared parameters that update automatically?, I believe it's not necessary for parameters to be non-editable to make this workflow possible, but If you any hints on that too is more than welcome

Best Regards,

Miguel G.

If you meant to sync Anno_Mark of a detail component with Mark of a model component then you cannot do it automatically in Revit.  Dynamo maybe a semi-automatic approach.

If you meant the 212 in the circle changed to 412 when you change Mark from 212 to 412?  Because it is a tag that shows the Mark parameter as a label.  It is a basic Revit functionality.

It almost sounds like you may want a "Reporting Parameter", but I'm kind of lost in all the weeds here.

But FWIW, here's what I'm referring to:

Thanks for your prompt reply Toan, That's what I'm looking for, to synchronize a default parameter with a new shared parameter. SO you recommend to dive into the backend sea using python or c# language to accomplish this? I can manage to create shared parameters and write data into that one from the "mark" parameter using Macro or Dynamo node but how exactly can I leave both of them synced afterwards?

Best regards

You will have run the Dynamo script whenever you need to sync them.  That's why I called it semi-automatic.

Hi barth, thanks for answer me

I'm stuck here too, it seems I will need to check about "Reporting parameters" too to head me into the right direction

Best regards,

Yeahp, That's what I bore in mind too, however Sofistik has accomplished a really cool stuff. I would appreciate if there is any software product developer we can ask for advice. It will ease some tedious task when working with sheets, views, among others components.

Cheers!
