Add marble/tread material to sides of the stepped stair

I have a stepped staircase in my project whose sides are visible from the living room. So I want to add a marble/plaster material to the sides of the stairs in a stepped profile i.e., similar to the stair case. Adding a stringer/carriage doesn't actually give a stepped profile. And I want the tread material to extend the thickness of this marble and then this profile goes below the tread(offset in a negative direction).

I have attached a dwg file to depict it clearly

I assume you want to do this in Revit....

after creating the stairs, go into the properties of the stair and look at the nosing profile you are using.  You can create a custom nosing profile and load it into your project to swap out the default one.  You can also specifiy where the nosing is to be applied.  See image.

I was actually talking about side material like stringer/carriage

you can tab select the stringer and go into its properties to alter the material.  You can also create a custom profile to use for the stringer as well.

yeah I want a custom profile of stringer which follows the stepped profile of stair & it has to be offset in negative direction

That you would need to use a carriage.

but the carriage won't be in a stepped profile like I want, and neither does the stringer

The top of the carriage normally follows the steps. Do you want the bottom of the carriage follows it too? Can you post a sketch of how you want it to look?

Yes, I want the bottom of the carriage to follow the stair too. But what I actually want is different. I've attached a Revit file to show what I actually want. I've created this using in-place family, but it would be better to know if there is a default way to do this. And I can adjust with getting any place closer to what want.

I don't see any in-place family inside your model.  there are two stairs, walls, floors and that's all.

With that said, I don't think a built-in carriage can step at the bottom.  You may need to fake it by building another stair adjacent to the main one, set the width to be the width of the carriage, and locate it to match the offset you want.

please turn on the show mass option int the massing & site ribbon tab.

I want the tread material to extend beyond the Staircase and the carriage starts below the tread. I Can't make this if I add a Staircase beside the actual Staircase to represent carriage

Layered cake, maybe?

Well thank you & that's a good hack. But I was hoping to find a way to do it with a single stair & in an exact way because I need to estimate the cost & material volume used in the construction
