Hi All
I need a little guidance. I've got 3 different plumbing fixture families with 3 different "Finish" parameters that read in 3 different fields. One value can be changed manually from the schedule while others can't. At least one is a shared parameter that I'd like to add or combine with the other families. I want to schedule them with one "Finish" field. The same is true for other identically named parameters that schedule in different fields.
I've worked around this so many times with text fields but I want to start doing it right before I get into the next big project.
Thank you

Export the one you want to use to your Shared Parameter Text File and then edit the other Families' Parameter to use the one you saved. Or, you could just use your Shared Parameter in a Project Parameter that is assigned to the Plumbing Fixture Category. Then all Plumbing Fixtures in the Project, regardless of where they came from. will have this same Shared Parameter Field.
The issue I see here though, is with the name. "Finish " is an In-Built Parameter. I would name yours something different so you can readily identify it in the list of available Parameter Fields. FWIW.
For schedule purposes only? Then you can simply add the shared parameter that exists in one family to the schedule, edit it and check Add to all elements... box, then the shared parameter will be added to other families of the same category.
