Hey Guys
So I downloaded Student Revit 2017 and I am having a problems with paper sizes when I try to print to pdf.
I want my floor plan to print at a 1/4" scale but it needs to be on a 24x36 paper size in order to fit the whole plan on the page. The largest option I have is 11x17. I thought maybe I needed to add page sizes to my computer and when I went to add them in my settings it had all of the page size options you normally see in Revit, however, when I open Revit I do not have all of those options.
Im not sure what I can do so that I can print out my floor plan..please help!
Thank you!

I imagine it is the same for all pdf drivers....the information below is based off of adding paper sizes for CutePDF
How To:
I'm not certain if there are limitations for printing in the educational version of the software.
After you made the changes on the printer, did you exit out of Revit and open it again...or try rebooting?

How To:
- From the Windows Start menu select Devices and Printers. (It's in the control panel under Hardware and Sound)
- Select the CutePDF printer, than select Print Server Properties from the top of the screen, just below the address bar.
- On the forms tab, select Create a new form, Provide Form name, Form measurements, Save Form. If you need to create more than one, repeat the process then OK
This worked for me. Thanks!
I hope the solution from other works.
This is just for info, if you are restricted with paper size..then use these scaling.
A3 ( double up, 200% ) you get A1 size...
so if A1 shows 1/4 scale, then A3 will show 1/8scale..
fix the view, create A3 PDF.. and later you can print that PDF in A1 ( converting A3 pdf to A1 ) by simple scaling
200%..
hope this helps..
cheers
A1 to A3 scaling
HELLO,
I HAVE CHECKED THE PRINTER SERVER PROPERTIES AND IT HAS ALL THE NECESSARY PAGE SIZES YET REVIT READS ONLY FEW.
What PDF driver? If it is the Microsoft Print to PDF, even though you can add them to forms, only the built in sizes will be available to print to.
I am having the exact same issues in AutoCad and I am using CutePDF. I tried to change the custom paper size in the advanced settings, but each time I close out I get an error and it resets the size. I have tried adding paper sizes to my printer settings, and they don't show up. It seems like the general answer to this problem is "Works for me" and it would be great if someone could actually figure out what is going on.

AutoCAD? Use the built-in AutoCAD PDF printer instead of CutePDF. This is Revit forum by the way.
For anyone who is still having issues adding custom page sizes to the Microsoft print to PDF printer please see this page.
It requires a little bit of fiddling with a .txt file but if you save a separate copy before you change it then you can always go back to it.
I have also tried that. I tried exporting as pdf and I get an error, an error that due to my many internet searches seems to have no explanation. I also tried to publish to pdf and I get the same error. I try to print to pdf and this is the first time I don't get the error, instead I simply cannot make the page size custom, so I went with this route. I was searching for a way to do this and CutePDF seemed like a common option for autodesk users, so I went with that. I then stared getting a different error from that and the cycle repeats. In the end I did get it working, but I have no idea which of the many changes I made over six hours actually fixed the problem. I wish I new what I did, but it simply started working. I changed form options in windows printer settings, I changed my plotter settings multiple times, I did a lot of stuff. I even messed around in my registers for a bit, but somehow it just worked.
Again, this is not AutoCAD forum. Go here:
