Adaptive family gettting deleted after removing reference imported file

As the title says, I've placed over 200 adaptive families in my project with the help of an imported CAD file. How to remove the CAD file from the project without the adaptive families disappearing as well?

It would be good to SEE something. But, based on your description, can you hide the CAD file from the view? It seems to be the host of your adaptive points. If this was inside a family, you can select the CAD import and uncheck its "Visible" property.

Don't delete, turn off the CAD import instead.

I would have to turn it off from every view then, no? Any other way?

No, It wasn't inside any family. The adaptive family was hosted on the CAD import file.
