Hi everyone,
I want to create a void family. The result I want to achieve is as in image 1. However, when I try to do this in the adaptive family, I get an error as in image 2. I’m having difficulty placing the family I made in the normal family section into my file. So I need to use adaptive family. I use these images to express my purpose. My project is quite complex.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Are you creating the element using a blend or swept blend? Blends do not allow multiple loops in them as they do not know which boundary to connect the swept surfaces to, is it outer to outer, or inner to outer, who knows.
You need to use an extrusion or a sweep to not get that error.
Create two halves so that each is a closed loop. Or create a solid form using the outer box, and a void using the inner box.

What does this mean? What you are showing in your screenshot is pretty basic. I don't know why you would need to model it in an Adaptive Template. I thinking all you need to do is make your "non-adaptive" Family Work Plane-Based. Just a guess though. Maybe additional information from you would help us to help you.
