Anyone know how to fix the adaptative pattern so it doesn't extend out of the boundaries in irregular shapes?

That is the infamous 2" overextended issue.  You might need to use another solid mass to cut the extension of the family.

In the office I work we have a project railing type, but it doesn't really work on stairs with the Railing tool. So I thought to create a adaptative component so it would work as I want and have a better control of things. The only problem is in the flight of the stair the verticals have that issue extending the boundary. I tried to create a void but it does not cut. The verticals is a adaptative pattern.

That type of railing is simple and it can be done well with the railing tool. Making it with the adaptive template is creating other issues that I see in that image.

I did not suggest 'void'.
