active link in ifc export

Hi all,

I linked some pdf files to my revit model, i'm trying to export in ifc the model with the link, but there is a problem with link, it appears in ifc properties but the revit link lost his attributes of link and remain only as not quite useful value.

Someone know some workaround to solve this problem and mantain link as link in ifc?

Thanks a lot

Unfortunately, we still can´t trust 100% on ifc files. Many thing are lost, including this. There is much work to do with them. I´m trying to survive and live side by side with him :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

ps. Did you try to use the system parameter URL on the family? Are they also lost?

Hi Alan,

i tried in the way from the begin but it doesn't work, link remain as simple text information without any connection to links pdf.

From my point of view it seems so strange there is not a way to define this type of connection considering Ifc a very useful way to share info....anyway i tried also building smart forum to find some info but is seem not possible in direct way right now, it's possible a workaround with blender.

I think you could do it using BCF format. The best free thing ever to communicate between different platforms and collaboration. You will love it when you know it.
