A problem in Schedule of linked file elements

Hi everyone,

I am having a project of twin villa, simply it is one building and its mirror.

So i modeled the villa in a file, and then prepared a master plan which contains a link from the villa file, then i mirrored the link.

Now, the master plan file is having 2 links of the same model, but one is mirrored.

In the doors schedule, you can add a field of the link, but i need to add some parameters to the link  to be used in the door schedule.

I created a shared parameter called (link is mirrored), (yes/no), because i need to make a formula in the door schedule using this bool value.

But, after adding the shared parameter to the project, in RVT LINKS category, it does appeares when i select the link, and i did entered the value, and i added this field in the schedule successfully but in the end, the schedule does not read the value i am giving to the link.

The schedule can read properly the link name, but never reades an additional parameter i add.

I hope that i explained the problem clearly, i know it may be complecated. So many thanks in advance for any helping attempts.

I would like to add a hint.

This problem could have been solved if only i can create a formula parameter in the schedule says: IF (link name = 1,"y","n")

But this is not working because the link name is a text parameter so the formula never allows to use ( = ), because i think formula can use ( = ) only with numbers or length.

That's why i was hoping to add a yes/no parameter to the link in order to use it to filter the doors by link.

I know that i can add a combine parameter which combine between the door type and the link name to separate the doors of each link, but this will not work in my case, because some of the doors are shared between the 2 links, and some are not shared, which means that, some doors are to be in both building, but some must have a new code because they will be mirrored.

Moreover, the problem could have been solved also if i could create a formula parameter and then use it in combined parameter or the opposite, create a combined parameter and use it in a formula parameter, but both are not allowed.

It is complicated i know, but who says that engineering is simple.

I myself enjoying these challenges, and enjoying share it with your experiences.
