A file drains computer RAM, Please help!

All,

I need your help to figure out what to do with a central file, the following are the symptoms.  Working on a central file (250 MB), during the past 2 weeks, every time a user saves to central Revit drains most of the RAM (10GB to12GB), to the point that it can take 15 to 20 minutes to save or the computer calls for “no responding” . I did all my tricks such as audit, purge, rename, remove links, remove CAD and make a new central. We have other projects on the same server and this is the only file that is giving us trouble. I really don’t know what to do!!

Please HELP!

try the following:

1.  back up the existing central model and associated files/folders

2.  create a new local from that model

3.  take the local model and make it a new central model NOT on the server

4.  move the new central file to the server

5.  tell the new central file it is a central file on the server

6.  create a new local model from this new central model

this will test the integrity of the associated database files on the server

It's not working, we continue having the same issues, the only way I see the RAM going down is as soon as I open worksets.

try creating a new workset called "redo"

then taking all objects and moving them to the "redo" workset

save the model

close and reopen it and the redo workset

does the central model still cause the issue?  If yes, there is an object or group of objects that are corrupting the model/system

if the issue goes away, then you had a corrupt workset...rebuild your workset one at a time from this point moving forward.

I tried the worksets option but the file still having problems, do you have any suggestion how to go over all the grups to find what is corrupted?

unfortunately, there isn't an automated method for verifying the objects integrity...You may need to send this model to Autodesk so they can look at it.
