3rd party family will not show up in drawings.

I've loaded a light fixture from a manufacturer's website, into my ceiling plan, but it does not show up.  I've adjusted the view range, checked visibility graphics, but to no avail.  The fixture does show up in elevation/sections, but not in plans.  Only whey I click on "reveal hidden elements" will it appear, but does not allow me to select it to unhide it.  I can't seem to find the tab that allows you to select "visible in plan and reflected ceiling plan" anywhere.  Any thoughts?

When a light fixture or any other family doesn't show up in a plan view but is visible in different views, there are several potential reasons and solutions to consider:

Check Family Settings:

Open the family in the Family Editor and check the visibility settings. Ensure that the "Plan/RCP" option is checked under the "Visibility/Graphics Overrides" settings for the elements within the family.
Check View Range:

Double-check the view range settings in your plan view. Ensure the cut plane and view depth are set appropriately to include the light fixture.
Check Visibility/Graphics Overrides:

Ensure that the category for light fixtures is not turned off in the plan view's Visibility/Graphics Overrides (VG) settings.
Check Worksets:

If you are using worksets, ensure the workset containing the light fixture is open and visible in the current view.
Check Phase Settings:

Verify that the phase settings for the view and the light fixture are consistent. If the fixture is placed in a different phase, it may not be visible in the current view.
Check Filters:

Ensure that no view filters that might be hiding the light fixture are applied.
Reveal Hidden Elements:

If the fixture appears when you click "Reveal Hidden Elements," it might be hidden by a view template or manually hidden. Try resetting the view template or manually unhide elements.
Family Type Settings:

Some families have parameters that control their visibility in different types of views. Check for such parameters in the family and adjust them accordingly.
Check for Annotation Symbols:

Some light fixtures have annotation symbols that may not be visible if the annotation scale is not set correctly. Adjust the scale to see if the symbol appears.
Reload the Family:

Sometimes, reloading the family into the project can resolve visibility issues. Try reloading the family and placing it again.
By systematically checking these potential issues, you should be able to identify why the light fixture is not visible in your plan view and resolve the problem.

I can not find "Visibility Settings" anywhere in the Family Properties.  No hidden geometry, no worksets, view range is good.  Can't find any annotation symbols, or Phase settings.  No filters.  Baffled.

It doesn't look like a hidden element. But "Reveal Hidden Element" button reveals it. It should be a setting hides it and able to be revealed by the button. Interesting.

Can you see other light fixtures (create by yourself) in the view?

Or try to edit the visibility in view template.

you should select the 3d model in family:

for example in this case i turn off the Display in Plan,so you can not see that in plan.

This is the thing....there is no parameter for "visiblity settings" in the Properties Panel.  See attached screen shot.  All my other light fixtures are showing up, and these fixtures don't show up in Hidden view either.  They do show up in the 3-d view as you can see from the screen shot (highlighted).

The reveal elements shows it, but I can't select it to unhide it.

Oops, correction, they do show up in Hidden View, but are unselectable.  See screen shot.

Is the family above cut plane?

Your screenshot is showing the properties of the fixture in the project.

You need to select the family, edit the family itself, then select all the elements in the family (extrusions, sweeps, etc..) and then you will see visibility properties for those specific elements in the properties as @azad.Nanva screenshot shows.

I've adjusted the view range to above, below, in the middle....doesn't show.  It does show in elevations, and in the 3d model, but just not in the plan views (floor plan and rcp).  Seems like the visibility settings have been set somewhere, but I just can't find that parameter in the Properties panel.  If I am in the family, there is a plan view (see screen shot). So one weird thing, The elevation from level says its 10', but I had to move it down to get it in the right position; is clearly not 10' above First Floor Level (see elevation screen shot).

I am in the family, but it is grouped into one object.  Can't edit individual elements.  See screen shot.

Edit the group and select the elements.

I don't actually see it being called a group, so I'm not sure how to edit it.  Where would it specify that?  When I click on it, this is what comes up (see screen shot):

This is the second fixture from this company that I have uploaded to my projects.  And both have the same issue, they show up in the elevations/sections/model, but not in plan.  And their offset from levels are wonky.  Let me know if you can figure it out.  Hopefully is something simple.  Thanks.

I have no clue how this family is made. I assume it is made in a different program and saved as an RFA.

It is weird that it doesn't let you control visibility though.

One thing that you should do is move the plane defining the origin down to the ref level. This is why you are getting weird offset from level issues and it will make it appear properly in plans and RCPs depending on its height.
