3Dconnexion Spacemouse Wireless and Cadmouse Pro Wireless dropping out

Hi, I just purchased these two products new a few days ago and they keep losing function in Revit 2020.  I've tried them on 2 computers with the latest drivers(Version 10.6.7 released 27/04/2020) and the same thing happens.  Everything works great until I start using another application for more than a few minutes and then when I return to Revit I lose functions.  The spacemouse icon disappears and then the spacemouse stops responding except for the two side buttons.  The cadmouse radial menu also stops working even though it comes up but none of the Revit functions work but the 3Dconnexion ones do and the zoom buttons on the side of the mouse still work.   If I switch to another program that I have open such as Autocad they both continue to work fine in that program and in the 3D viewer supplied with the drivers.

When they are working fine before they drop out Revit displays some strange behaviour.  After importing a component the main toolbar freezes and I have to continually click on different objects and toolbar until it responds, which usually toggles the toolbar to a different display mode.  This stops happening once the spacemouse drops out.

Also, when I go to change materials on an object the program stalls and I can't initially type anything into the material search function.  After a few seconds it then lets me enter the text and performs the search and then a few seconds later the initial text that I typed appears in front of the text and re-starts the search with both strings of text.  This does not happen once the 3Dconnexion devices stop working.  It also had never happened before I had connected the devices.

I'm currently dealing with their tech support but wanted to see if anyone on here is experiencing the same issue.

Okay, so no one is having similar issues.

Is anyone using these products successfully with Revit?

If so, what version of the driver are you using?

Yes, it would be great to have the functionality of other Autodesk products like Inventor.   I purchased it mainly for presentations in Enscape but in order for it to work in Enscape, it needs to not drop out in Revit.

Hi Stephen,

I am having the exact same issue (to the letter) in Revit 2019.2

I have updated everything (Revit/Spacemouse software/drivers etc) but no dice.

It is incredibly frustrating.  One other thing that I noticed is that the spacemouse icon drops off the Navigation Bar (top right hand side beside the viewcube) when it stops working.  I also had issues where the camera settings (Eye Elevation & Target Elevation) were going mental in the properties panel & making it impossible to use.  I have reported the issues to Autodesk.

Can someone from Autodesk please comment on this issue?  The problems seem to have been resolved in previous iterations of Revit.

For info, see current machine specs etc:

Lenovo Thinkstation P330

Intel i9-9900K - 3.6Ghz - 8 Core

32GB RAM

Quadro RTX 4000

Windows 10 Pro 10.0.18362 Build 18362

Revit 2019.2

MX Master 3 mouse

3D Connexion Spacemouse wireless

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Brian,

Sorry to hear you are having the same issues, my icon on the navigator bar also disappears.

3Dconnexion have gone silent on me after saying they can't get it to happen on their end.

I've found that if I reopen Enscape after the drop out, the spacemouse will function in there without it working in Revit.  So I've given up on using the full functionality of the cadmouse in Revit and only use the spacemouse in Enscape.  Such a shame.

Hey! Today I got my 3D Space mouse and it is the same thing here, the zoom seems not to work properly and if I mess too much with the view it ended kind of corrupted.

Have you heard something from Autodesk or 3D Connexion?
