3D view not visible.

I have been having some issues with my model not appearing when I create a 3D default view. I believe that the issue stems from the model having been moved far from the project base point. When I first started the project, I was using an autocad drawing to retrace the building layout and I started working where the drawing linked itself rather than move the files to the project base point. I have tried moving both the project base point and the survey point to see if this solves the issue however I have not had any success.

I have attached a few imaged to show what I am experiencing.

Image 1 : The appearance of the model when I am finally able to set a Section box to make it appear.

Image 2: The location of my project base point relative to a survey point that I have placed in the model.

Images 3 and 4: give you an idea of how large the Section box is relative to my model.

Image 5: Is a zoom in to my model.

I should also note that in order to set my elevations, I used the relocate project command to set the correct floor elevations. I am wondering if that may be what I did wrong. This model will eventually be geo-located when I get survey information so it is subject to be moved again.

Any help would be appreciated.

It is an incorrect assumption that you need to move the building in the model so that it is correctly geo-located. Move the geo-reference to match your building location and acquire its shared coordinates. Think of them like a cardboard model as the building and a map as the site - you can fix the building on the center of the display table and move the map underneath it to match.

And yes, the graphic glitches is most likely cause the the too remote location of the model from the Origin. You can try to turn off the CAD link for the 3D view see if it can fix the transparency issue. But for the long terms, keep your Project Base Point and the mode at or near the Origin.
