Hi,
I'm trying to create a 3-dimensional curtain wall and can't seem to find an easy way to do it. I created it in Sketchup and tried to import it into Revit 2019 but it wouldn't let me. I then exported it as an IFC file and linked it to my Revit file which worked perfectly EXCEPT materials didn't transfer over so I can't use a glass material on it. Does anyone have a simple tutorial or tips for creating this form in Revit or any suggestions as to how I could assign glass to this Sketchup form? I've attached a picture of my Sketchup form. I'm not too concerned about structural integrity, just the form and being able to have light reflect off the different glass forms.
Thanks in advance ![]()

To link SKP file into Revit, you need to back save the sketchup file, then link CAD into Revit.
To change the material of sketchup model, you need to go to the Material library and find out the material used on that model and adjust that material.
To model this curtain panel panel in Revit, create a curtain panel pattern based family and assign onto a mass surface.
Forget Sketchup. Go Revit. Go BIM. It can be done as a fully parametric Revit Curtain Wall relatively easily. I did this conceptual in literally minutes. Conical-shaped panel is created via a sweep blend. See attachment.
Hi, I only have Revit 2019 and the file won't open! Did you create a panel and then apply it to a curtain wall or create the whole wall as an in-place-mass? Sorry.. clearly a beginner here!
Thanks though!
@barthbradley How did you create the sweep blend without the top profile? I can't create one like that...
