2019 cant place lights

Upgraded to 2019 and now I cant place lights on ceiling no matter what view. I've tried all views and nothing happening. It doesn't give me an option of face based either. When I try to place it the light appears way outside my model and if I press modify or escape the light fitting disappears. It's a head scratcher! Hopefully someone will point to something obvious.

And its internal architectural fittings im using.

Sounds like the fixture can't find a host.  Maybe it's a ceiling-based family and therefore it will only host to a ceiling, not the underside of a floor.

You could be onto something there, I just took it for granted that when I edited the floor structure and put a slab underneath that it would take to it. I’ll try that when I get back home.

barthbradley your spot on. Me dope, cos I looked at ceiling in 3D and seen a slab I just presumed instead of thinking. Good man you are!
