Split Ducts with Union

Hi, 

I am try to spli duct with union

FamilyInstance Union = RevitDocument.Create.NewFamilyInstance(point, UnionType, StructuralType.NonStructural); 

but at the end i got a result like

 

how do i can actually split this duct ?

need help of spliting this duct ..>.<

I end up with get the properties of the duct and then redraw the duct one by one and put in the union in order to split the duct. quite a complicated process
