WPF Form?

I'm looking at the sample projects provided in the SDK, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can.  Unfortunately, they don't have much explanation sometimes.

For the Sample "CreateFillPattern," I'm trying to understand if it is using a WPF form.  It looks like it is coded entirely using c# files.  Please excuse my ignorance, I don't know much about WPF or whatever is going on here.

It's not WPF, it's created using Winform. Usually in a WFP you will have a .xaml file.
Visual studio provides this framework to easily create UI like a drawing, all the background codes are created automatically.
Do a bit study about Winforms / WPF before starting any real world project, you will get onboard pretty easily.
