Revit Room Boundaries -- Ignore Slabs

Revit Room Boundaries -- Ignore Slabs

Not applicable

In essence: I want to create rooms which are defined ONLY by room boundary lines I created, and NOT by any other elements. I was hoping that by turning OFF the Option "room boundary" for all elements, that the rooms would not be bounded by any elements.

However, the slabs (with the option "room boundary" turned off) are not ignored and create a room boundary. Can this be fixed? Is there perhaps a way to temporarily "hide" all elements for room creation, or somehow tell the room tool to "ignore all" elements?

im not sure if i get your issue : the room based level depend on where you create the room. so if you create a room on level 1 it will have a based at level 1, having floor or not. then you can change the base offset manually or in a section view. does that make sense?
