Revit Offset Family

Hi all! I wanted to explore building families in Revit and I encountered a problem when trying to offset a square. As seen in the photo, the square is grayed out and I cannot click on the object. What is the issue? I know in Inventor you can Project Geometry and offset. Not sure what to do here.

I'm not sure why you can't select the square with the offset tool, maybe you have to draw them both with a single use of the line tool? Have you tried using pick line and entering an offset with that?

- if you want to draw a new extrusion with the edges offsetting from the original, create a new extrusion, sketch boundary, pick lines and set offset distance

- if you want to modify the original extrusion , then edit extrusion, offset the sketch lines by a distance (uncheck Copy box)
