REVIT Failed to Open Document

I am trying to transfer Revit Projects or Template from one device to another.

Message appear saying ( failed to open document ) . I have tried solution from the blog without success.

I also tried to use transmit model and part of the window is cut from the screen therefore I am not able to complete the etransmit window. I am working on a Lenovo Ideapad320.

Is there an effective way to transfer/send projects ? How could I detach the file from the central model?

Unfortunately, this is not the best place to ask such a question. Please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Afaict from your description and screen snapshot, you are not doing anything programmatically yourself using the Revit API, just using the standard Revit user interface.

In that case, you might get more optimal answers to a question like yours relating to product setup, optimisation, usage, and other end-user support issues in one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are better equipped to address this topic than us programming nerds.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Hi @rocki_p

Just as @jeremy_tammik has said above, this forum focus mainly on Revit API related concerns. About the issue you are having, the Revit errors may be a little vague and not give away much information on the actual error but a number of reasons causes 'Revit Failed to Open Document'. Not sure if you came across this resource: https://bimandbeam.com/2023/01/revit-failed-to-open-document/ . A lot of insights outlined

Thank you @caroline.gitonga @jeremy_tammik  for replying and for clarifying.

I have tried the link before asking for help here.

but that procedure didn't work for me

I will move the conversation into the right forum.

Best Wishes

Rocki
