revit crash - freezes when export to pdf

Hi,

I have problem with revit when exporting to pdf. I was trying to find what causes the problem:

1. I have created a few projects (20-100mb large), and prepared plans, sections and 3d views on sheets for the export.

2. When I use "export to pdf" (either icon or choose from dropdown menu) it crashes and freezes computer. Only option is to reset computer. Sometimes when crashing it displays psychodelic colors (looks like graphic card crash).

3. When I use a PDF printers - it works fine.

4. I formatted and reinstalled whole windows, programs and did all of updates for windows and revit itself. still crashes.

5. I copied files from server to my local drive (c). still crashes.

6. I opened same files on four other computers - it works smoothly, and takes about 30sec to export all the sheets.

7. When I delete sheets that need raster rendering it works fine.

I guess it might be a problem between my computer specs and revit.

Computer specs: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2687W v2 @ 3.40GHz (processors: 2), 64gb ram, nvidia quadro K6000

Is there a way how to solve it?

Unfortunately, this is not the best place to ask such a question.

Please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API.

Afaict from your description, you are not doing anything programmatically yourself using the Revit API, just using the standard Revit user interface.

So, you cannot expect an answer to a question such as yours relating to system requirements, product setup, optimisation, usage or other end user support issues here.

You should try one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead for that:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/this-forum-is-for-revit-api-programming-questions-not...

The people there are better equipped to address this topic than us programming nerds.

I hope this clarifies.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy
