Remove highlight on exit

I create an add in and select two floors as shown, when the addin shows an error, the two selected floors are still highlighted, when zooming the screen, the highlight will disappear, is there any way to make the highlight disappear by itself?

Yes, probably. You can try setting the current selection set to zero elements via UIDocument Selection SetElementIds method:
