Rebar shap created programmatically can not be opened in the family editor

I create the rebar shape programmatically, using the method Rebar.CreateFromCurves().
After that, i can not open the form in the family editor

Why is that? Can this somehow be changed?

Tried to answer your question at adn-cis.org forum.

Found strange thing. If you have any rebar shapes families in the document (I create a standard straight linear rebar programmatically and have a circle stirrup rebar shape in the document) it works as expected and you can edit rebar in a family editor. If there are no rebar shapes families, you can't edit a rebar, that you created programmatically.
