"Date" parameter type

Could we please get a Date/Time parameter type in Revit?

Not just a piece of Text that looks like month/day/year, but an actual Parameter Type where we could, say 10/07/2015 + 45 Days = 10/21/2015

We could do SO much more regarding Facilities Management if we could include real Dates in our models.

Thanks, Karam.

Another one I've made every year in the beta programs.

Actually all the input types (except button & submit) from html5 like email, radio, month, colour, time and including the restrictions like required, step, min, max, hidden would make building stable families soooo much easier. Of course would need type casting and string concatenation to really work.

That's a good idea. Please submit this request on the feedback form: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=1109794

You can also join the Revit Beta (http://beta.autodesk.com), where you can work with and discuss the next Revit version before it's released.

Ideas submitted through that form disappear, there is an automated response and then nothing. An open list of 'features we are building' and progress, including a summary of the design brief would be much better.

Thank you for the feedback. I’ve added this forum thread to the existing wishlist item (CF-708) for this request (so that our developers will be able to see the current feedback as well as future posts).

If you submit feedback on this topic in the future (through the Product Feedback link, Beta forum, or at Gunslinger) you can use CF-708 as a reference to identify to it (while the number isn’t something you can lookup directly our developers can look this up to see the specific item you are talking about).

  1. simply use the excell method with numbers starts with 1.1.1900 and so on you can build a three type integer parameters that can later on be translated with dynamo... it is very simple task, and very powerfull for project management. , good luck.

Yes, but it still is a work around, isn't it?

4 years on and this feature is still not added. Is it going to be added soon? This would add some value into the Assemble integration methinks.

totally second you - not only for FM uses but I am actually creating a routine for Construction Management - Planning of Construction and was wondering where is my date format YYYY-MM-DD we should be able to have Revit ignoring all separators...
