"A serious error has occurred" when performing certain actions in Revit 2020

When trying to upgrade a model from Revit 2019 to 2020 or when transferring project standards or when purging, I recieve a message along the lines of: "A serious error has occurred. The action has been cancelled." I can work with the models normally in Revit 2019, however when trying to use Revit 2020, these actions will cause the error. I have reinstalled both Revit programs, separately and individually, which does not seem to work. Opening the models using Audit does not solve the problem either. This problem only occurs on my laptop. Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Bent
