Problem with an old .dll

Hello guys,

first of all, I would like to say thanks to all of you.
I've started to use Autocad and Revit just few months ago and whitout your help, really..... I couldn't even know how to open the software.
I hope one day I will be able to help people because this is what you do.... It will be just a pleasure for me...

But now I can't do it... I'm still learning and I want to use Revit in a better way.

Revit is really a good software but I wuld like to do more.... I want to customize it... I want to improve what I'm doing...

I live in the UK and here we use different standards to size pipes.

I've found this post:

http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2013/07/user-mep-calculation-sample.html#2

Jeremy Tammik (I would like to call him THE GURU) made this post in 2013.

I wanted to have a look to this add-in so what I did was:
1)Download Microsoft Visual Studio

2)Download Revit SDK 2016

3) Have a look to the "getting Started" Section that Jeremy has provided on this website: http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/about-the-author.html#2

4)Watch some tutorials

5) Do some easy projects that it's possible to find in the Revit SDK 2016 folder).

After that I was like "ok, I'm ready... I can have a look to this project: http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2013/07/user-mep-calculation-sample.html#2

But Unfortunately I'm not...Smiley SadSmiley SadSmiley Sad
What I've done is:
1) open the file below in Visual Studio 2015:
a.PNG

There are 4 projects in that file:
b.PNG

If I open them, I can see that the References to Revit could not be found (this is for all the projects):
cc.PNG

So what I did is delete these References and put the correct references RevitAPI.dll and RevitAPIUI.dll that I can find in C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2016
But After that I still have 67 errors and so I can not Build the file. I do not know what I should do...

dd.PNG

I'm guessing if the problem is the migration of the file which is good for Revit 2014 but NOT for Revit 2016.
Don't judge me please because I'm not able to find a solution on my own.
I do need your help guys...
Thanks guys... Thanks indeed for this forum and for all the people who could give me a hand.

Hi Explorer, welcom to the amazing world of Revit API. The problems/warnings you get are conversion errors. Obviously the project you are using was made in an earlier version of revit (2014 you say). So the API has had changes since then, so that's where the errors come from. In each Revit version, you get messages of functions getting obsolete, so that gives the programmer the chance to resolve them, because these obsolete messages will become errors in the next release. So, what you need to do is to address each error and solve them. You can try this forum and google to find the solutions for each problem. And maybe this is a to big of a challenge in the stage you are in now. Maybe you should try others SDK samples first.
