Plugin Development Limitations/Requirements

Hello,

I am Part of a Development Team that is currently planing on creating a Plugin for Revit.

I checked the requirements for Releasing at the Autodesk AppStore:

Revit Developer Info | Autodesk App Store | ADN

My question:

- Are there any further Limitation/Requirements like on how much we influence a Revit Modell or Revit Project. We are planing the development of a Plugin that manages Revit Objects (Modells) and allows the User to manipulate Informations as Parameters and Materials. Before we start investing and working on the Project, we would like to know if that is completly allowed?

Best Regards,

Dear Anton,

Yes, it is completely allowed with no limitations that I am aware of. The Revit API is yours to use as you please.

Autodesk's interest lies in selling Revit installations and has no interest in limiting what external developers do with it and its API, as long as the Revit product license is not violated.

I hope this clarifies.

You might want to discuss in more detail with the marketing guys of the DAS team, developer advocacy and support. If you are in Europe, that would be Peter Schlipf in the Munich Autodesk office. Whereabouts are you located?

Cheers,

Jeremy
