Is there a way to change / assign a leveltype to an existing level using API.

Whenever i try to i geht an error that the family i try to assign doesnt exist.

I am not talking about the level Symbol!

(Actually i want to change the level linetypelinetype which is the family:type)

I guess you mean the Line Pattern, which can be get/set in the (Type) parameters of the level.

It's an elementID, so you need to get the elementid of the line pattern you want to use.

Dear Peter, do you mean by changing the "Symbol" parameter of type of level? where you can select something like "M_Level Head - Circle" or "M_Level Head - No Bubble", or do you mean changing "Line Pattern" which you can choose "Center", "Dash", "Demolished" etc.

If it is Line pattern, then try to filter out all LinePatternElement.
if it is Color, then use Parameter.Set(a_int),
where a_int stands for the int number of RGB color, e.g.
a_int = 8388672
which is 0x800040 in hex, which stands for R:40,G:0,B:80
