Identify area boundaries without placed area inside

In the UI a user can place area boundaries, in this boundary an area can be placed.
The same can be done with rooms and roomboundaries.
I believe that with the PlanTopology class roomboundaries without rooms placed inside it can be found.
Is there also a similar class or function for areas or areaplans?

Dear Sander,

Thank you for raising your query here in the public forum.

It automatically generated an ADN case for you as well, 14007660 [Identify area boundaries without placed area inside].

That ends up being a duplicate of the ADN case you already raised, of course, 14003966 [Identify area boundaries without placed area inside], which I just answered.

I repeat the answer here for the convenience of other readers:

I discussed this with the development team, and they say:

As far as I know you can't do this for areas from the API. I don't expect there to be a 'secret' way to do this either. I am pretty sure you can't do it if there isn't an obvious way - I actually thought you could do it via PlanTopology.

Sorry for the bad news.

If this is important for you, I suggest you submit a wish list item for it in the Revit Idea Station.

I hope that maybe some other developers can come up with ideas for workarounds that address this task using the existing API.

Best regards,

Jeremy
