Floor Hatch Pattern

Hi,

as far as i know that there is no tool to modify an existing floor, all you have to do is to make a copy of the original lines, do you modifications on these lines and past them in a new Floor. so far so good. But, i want to reserve the hatching alignmen lets say if i have my hatch is a rectangular/squar tiles aligned to ede or center, how can i reserve this property? Is there a way to acheive that?
