Floor hatch alignment to line

Hi everyone,

I am trying to do the following operation (alignment to a line of the floor hatch as seen in the gif attached). I have tried following the answers in the forum like https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api-forum/use-of-align-function-programatically-to-change-the-a... but haven't had any luck with it.

Can someone help me understand how to do that using the C# API? Or if its even possible?

Also selecting a hatch line and applying rotation can help me tons.

Thanks in advance!!

Yup. The thread you point out does address the issue, but I agree that it is non-trivial and tricky. So, I asked the development team for a simpler solution, such as programmatic access to the underlying functionality of the Align tool that you show in your video.

Thanks for responding, my main issue is that in the forum thread I showed you the references must be aligned previously. Therefore what I am trying to do doesn't really apply as I can't rotate the hatch lines to align and if I align the line then I can't return to the correct orientation of the hatch lines.
