Export DWG outside session

Does anyone know if its possible to export a dwg from revit outside the session? Or if that's not a thing is it possible to open revit in the background and export dwgs and then close?

1) Not possible

2) Possible depending on the term background? You can open Revit from another process, you can open files with the RevitAPI in response to an ExternalEvent, you can dismiss dialogues that come up during open, you can export dwgs of specific views.

I don't think you want to be opening and closing Revit though personally, perhaps if it is open keep it open or put a time period on it.
