Following up on this post:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-api/ifc-import-level-line-is-automatically-created/m-p/6216561#...

What does an IFC file need to contain for Revit to see it as having a "Level 1"?

I exported and imported a simple IFC file using Revit (see attached). It has the same problem the IFC file I created has. A new "Level 1" at elevation 0m is created.

Dear David,

Thank you for your query and sample IFC file.

Sorry that I missed your update to the original thread.

The resolution suggested in the original thread was summarised by The Building Coder:

http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2016/02/ifc-import-levels-and-mep-element-shapes.html#2

Sorry that it does not work right out of the box.

I am passing on your query and sample file to the development team who made the suggestion in the first place.

Let's see what they reply this time.

Best regards,

Jeremy
