Communicator API / Revit Plugin

Hello All,

So this is abit of an advanced area that I am not sure you can script?  Basically as you all know there is Communicator for Revit A360 users, which is great!  But what if I want to make a revit communicator between users within the same model?  So projects within the office can use it...  Any ideas on what this script would entail or if anyone can point me in the right direction... I would greatly appreciate it!  Thank you.

Hi Kevin, 

I'm not fully understanding your question. In any event, there is no public API for C4R at a moment.

I would still be interested in knowing what exactly you are trying to do using API so that we can raise a wish to the product team. If you can eraborate your wish here, it will be helpful.

First off, thank you for responding so promply! Basically, when you sign onto A360, there is a option of a communicator which allows you to talk to people via chat. Is there a Revit API Script we can implement utilizing the idea that users on Local files sharing a common central file could communicate to eachother via chat window?

Basically, same thing as communicator but not having to deal with A360!

Thanks for clarification. There is no such an API. Sounds like it will be out of the scope of C4R. 

Communicator is utilizing A360 core feature. If you want do the similiar without A360, you will need to reinvent the backend system yourself.

Does this sound remotely doable in 2018? Peer-to-peer messaging inside Revit without Anything360, C4R etc. Dale
