Dear Phil,

Thank you for your query.

The wish list item CF-1201 [Purge unused objects] is in the database, still open, marked as critical, and I see no activity on it from the development team.

I'll check whether they have any comments on it.

Purging things is requested quite frequently.

Can you check the Revit Idea Station for corresponding entries as well, please and vote for all that match your needs?

I am sure there are some related to this.

Here is the last public mention of this topic on the blog that I see:

http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2017/04/forgefader-ui-lookup-builds-purge-and-room-instance...

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

Jeremy

I'ts embarrasing to have to provide excuses for creating a cumbersome soln using postcommand for an operation that should be easy to perform with the revit api. I will be the torchbearer for those that wish it included in our tool kit soon!

Dear Phil,

Thank you for your update and initiative.

Can you check and ensure that this wish is also listed and voted for in the Revit Idea Station?

Thank you!

Best regards,

Jeremy

I have found an existing simple solution for this (for Revit 2017+). See my code repository:
