Can temp files be deleted?

I am finding the Revit generates massive amounts of files stored in the system TEMP folder. and I have three questions regarding them:

If a project is saved - can these files be safely deleted?

Is there any setting in Revit to delete those files when the software is closed?

Which files should NOT be deleted from the Temp folder (revit generated .bak files for instance)?

Thanks!

I can say from experience, NO! This directory typically cleans itself out when all elements are relinquished and saved to central and all open local files are closed. Deleting these files are not worth the few bits of data you free up on your server vs the issues you may encounter by deleting them manually.

When setting up your central file, decrease the amount of backups in the save as central dialog box or you can recreate your central model to eliminate the temp files.

I have the same problem.

And its not just a few bits.

As you see in the attachment there ar a lots of files in a short time.

Why there so manny at the same time?

The amount of backups is just 1.
