Adding parameter to system family

I need to add and change a parameter to a system family(duct).

Possibly a dumb question but I'm not sure I completely understand the parameter system in Revit. I have a function(with a WinForm) that runs on IdlingEvent after you’ve placed a duct, it adds linning and isolation and sets diameter and system type. I need it to also add/set a custom parameter.

Does this mean there is no way to do this?

Hi,

in the Revit SDK there is a "FireRating" sample.

It shows how to add Shared Parameters to walls which are system families, too.

Just convert its VB code to C# using one of the web based code converters or use SharpDevelop to do so.
