Access the renderer using API

Hi

I was wondering if there's any possibility to directly access Mental Ray renderer using Revit API. What I would like to achieve is to either get the raw high-dynamic range (HDR) data before final tone mapping, or to induce calculation of some photometric values as it's done in 3ds Max Design (Light Meter Helper Object).

I was thinking about using the newly added CustomRenderer class to somehow wrap around the regular rendering calls and "hijack" the interesting data, but I'm not sure whether it's possible at all.

As I'm completely new to Revit API, please excuse if the whole idea sounds like some nonsense. Thanks for any suggestions!

Best regards,
Bartek B.

From what I remember, there is no API access to rendering other than options and materials, even in 2014
