Why does my gallery entry keep getting marked private/unpublished

Hello,

I've captured a stationary spinning object in a computer game. It's semi translucent and there are stationary objects behind it.

As I expected it did not convert but it gives no explanation. I obviously can't paint the object. Are there any

techniques in photoshop that will let me manually fix the images to reduce the translucency?

Thank

Hi @Anonymous,

not really sure if i get correctly. Are you trying to scan an semitransparent object from within a game? Could you give use a screenshot of your dataset?

Thanks.

Cheers,

Hi @Anonymous,

Transparent object are not suitable for photogrammetry. With a real transparent object, you should actually cover it up with something making it matte and opaque and then you would scan it. But in general, transparent surfaces are photogrammetry nightmares. In your case, you cannot even work on your object as it is a virtual object and you cannot change its features. Also, i have to feeling that kind of object has also an animated texture, hasn't it? And the diamond is also kinda floating in the air, so it is not even completely still.

However, the shape of the diamond looks pretty simple. If you have any skill with 3D softwares and modeling, you will find easier to manually creating one rather than trying to make a photo-to-3d reconstruction.

Cheers,

V.

Thanks for the help. I hoped there might be a simple way but it seems not.
