We're trying to use the supplied windows executable to transform .las files into .rcs files, and it seems to be taking a very long time (multiple hours) for point clouds with several tens of millions of points. Is there any guidance about roughly how long LAS -> RCS conversion should take for point clouds of this size?
May I know roughly how big is the file? Just in case your file size is very big and the computer does not have enough memory or computation power.
Also can you help try using "-s" option to display the progress? Is the progress updating?
The individual files are on the order of several hundred MB to 2 GB. I'm using the -s option to display progress, and it looks like it stalls out at 80% complete in at least some cases.
For one 2G .las file we tested, it took about 15 mins to import using RCPCreatorSample.exe.
But the time cost can vary depending on the content of the file and the performance of computer.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Yan
