When working for DoD or other government entities, it is mandatory that you be able to mark your files with the appropriate markings depending on what security classification that document may be. (i.e. Secret, Top Secret, Confidential, etc..) Up until a few years ago, this was not an issue but as the industry moves more and more to model based design, where Laser Scanning is a huge part, we find ourselves in a hard spot. With the 2D CAD files, or photos you can just place the appropriate marking into the file where it can easily be seen by the person viewing it. With point clouds and 3D models, this is not an option. WE NEED IT TO BE! It is actually a matter of National Security. I would be happy to provide any details I can to help this come to fruition. To my knowledge, there is no point cloud software on the market that offers this capability and we need it desperately.
