I know this is an ongoing issue with recap. We are all waiting for the day when recap fixes the issue with assigning points to regions. Basically the more selections you do (not the amount of points selected), the slower recap gets. Eventually you will hit a wall and can't even export the regions you have.
I worked all day on getting points on to separate regions for a customer. He wants the point cloud broken up by structure, MEP, floor, equipment, and roof. Everything seemed smooth for about 4-5 hours of making selections and assigning regions until suddenly it was not OK anymore. Recap crashed, and I opened the project up hoping to export the work that I had up until that point. I hit export regions and left. This morning.... 0% exported... Looks like i'm starting over. Please fix this in the upcoming release!
