Recap Photo project creation using images without GPS data
Not every aerial image has GPS data. The idea is to be able to create aerial photo projects using images without GPS data. The projects should result in the same high resolution images and model accuracy as with images with GPS data, but no coordinate system location info.
In our Drone Flight data acquisition, we used a DJI Phantom 4 Pro. We chose 'video capture' instead of 'still images' because with unpredictable wind conditions we wanted to acquire as much data as possible within the limited time we had. We then processed the video through "Free Video to Jpeg" Converter by Digital Wave. It quickly extracted jpegs at the interval we set , 'every 30 frames' . We uploaded it to Recap Photo but was continuously getting errors. It was due to lack of GPS data that was stripped from this video to jpeg converter. It was reported that GPS data resulted in poor model accuracy.
