In order to avoid crashing, I am having to save/optimize very often (every 15-20 minutes). Not a big deal, but the optimization can take quite a while each time this occurs, which adds up over time (especially on large projects of 400+ scans...)
Even optimization eventually doesn't cure the slow-downs, so need to "Save As..." iteratively in order to improve performance. This of course requires more waiting, and data duplication (many GBs of storage).
Together these two issues make for painful, brutal, slow cleaning.
