I had the case where the automatic registration was not quite what I accepted. Most of the Scans "landed" on the wrong coordinates.
So I started new with the scans that landed on the right coordinates, saved and then started importing the wrong locations (about 5 at the time) to manual register them.
Here are the suggestions that would have speeded up this work:
1) If a Scan position is active prior to starting the import, then this scan position should be active on the left side of the manual registration (instead of always the first scan) Now I have to wait to until the "preparing registration" phase is done before I can choose the right scan to start from
2) If during the import, several scans are selected using the CTRL key, the scans should be presented to register manually in this order. In this manner you can "progress" in your cloud step by step using the previous scan to register the next in a
3) Searching for match should not start automatically. Now I have to wait until I can right select the scan on the left side and the scan on the right side where a match can be found. I should be able to select the right scans and some target points and then launch the search for matches
