Ultra mode works like Preview mode

Ultra mode works like Preview mode

Hi everyone, my name is Dario. I have an odd and new (from my experience) problem with Recap 360. I choose for an Ultra 3D (high resolution) reconstruction but the service produces a Preview quality one (low resolution).

Today I tried with more than 10 photo and set and just for 2 I get the Ultra resolution model I wanted (by resubmitting them multiple times). It is like the system ignores my choice, and uses the default settings.

It is the first time that this happened to me. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for participating in our community! Do you know how pictures were taken? What camera was used to take these pictures? Does these pictures has lots of green space?

Just to let you know that more images might produce better coverage, however will take longer to process. Also, Images with more pixels produce superior results. Please, refer to these links to learn more about “Photo/Fly/UAV Project Workflow”, “Workflow and Use Cases” and “Photo to3D” project. Also, this Tutorial video demonstrates the full workflow with the Photo service on ReCap 360.

Try taking more pictures with higher resolution and try submitting project again, let me know if you are still seeing same behavior. Please, let me know if this helps.

Thank you and have a great day!!!

Hi @anil_mistry, thanks for your response.

The problem is not related to the camera or the pictures. The problem is that despite I choose "Ultra" as quality level, recap360 performs the computation at "Preview" quality. It seems to ignore my settings.

Anyway it has always properly worked, this issue started yesterday.

Hi @Anonymous.

I am sorry to hear that. When you say ReCap process Photo project as Preview mode instead of Ultra quality, would you be able to share screen capture showing this behavior? Also, can you share project with us for further investigation. If you can then let me know and will send you Private message with email ID.

Thank you,

Hi @anil_mistry, thanks for your assistance. Unfortunately, there is nothing that I can capture to show you this behavior. Everything seems to properly work, until I download the file. Here I can see the file size is very small and actually I get a low poly mesh.

I also tried to resubmit an old project that I processed some week ago when the system worked. Despite settings have not been changed, this time I obtained a bad low poly mesh. It does not depend on the project, It is just the Ultra quality mode does not work anymore.
